About Movies For Mommies

Movies For Mommies (MFM) is North America's Original Parent & Baby Film Event. Launched in June of 2001 in mid-town Toronto, it was the first event of its kind that was baby friendly and geared toward entertaining parents. MFM has since expanded across Canada with locations in Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec and Saskatchewan, and includes screenings in both English and French. And now, MFM is heading south of the border to spread the fun.

The idea was first conceived when founder and owner Robyn Green-Ruskin went to a matinee one afternoon to enjoy a movie. A young mother sat down a few seats away with her baby, and once the lights dimmed and the film started, the baby started to cry. At that moment inspiration struck Ms. Green-Ruskin. She would create a movie matinee event exclusively for new parents to enjoy, where crying babies would be welcome and other parent-perks such as relevant speakers, products and services would be available.

Movies For Mommies is opening its first US location on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in Cincinnati, OH. Beata Lorinc, while temporarily living in Toronto, got the opportunity to participate in many MFM screenings with her newborn son and decided to bring MFM back to the US. Beata, born and raised in the US, is very excited about bringing this well-established and popular parent and baby event to the States. She believes every new mom, dad, grandparent and caregiver should be able to see a movie with their baby in a warm, welcoming environment.

MFM US is operated in Ohio by Exceeding Expectations, LLC, an event planning and consulting company dedicated to marrying quality brands with their niche markets.
