About Movies For Mommies

Movies For Mommies (MFM) is Canada’s Original Parent & Baby Film Event. Launched in June of 2001 it was the first event of its kind that was Baby Friendly and geared toward entertaining parents.

The idea was first conceived when founder and owner Robyn Green-Ruskin went to a matinee one afternoon to enjoy a movie. A young mother sat down a few seats away with her baby, and once the lights dimmed and the film started, the baby started to howl. At that moment inspiration struck Ms. Green-Ruskin to create a movie matinee event exclusively for new parents to enjoy, where crying would be welcome and other parent-perks would be available.

Opened in mid-town Toronto 5 years ago, MFM has since expanded across the country with locations in British Columbia, Quebec and Saskatchewan, and includes screenings in both English and French.

Movies For Mommies is part of Sunflower Productions Inc, an event planning and consulting company dedicated to meeting the needs of corporations, media and businesses of all sizes who seek to connect their brands with niche markets and the public through entertaining events and creative marketing.
